Deep transcranial magnetic stimulation(dTMS) is a noninvasive and painless method for the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders through activating deep neurons in the deep brain. To effectively stimulate deeper brain tissues and weaken the field strength in the cortex simultaneously, novel coil designs are modeled and investigated using the combination of TMS coils. The simulations with realistic head model are performed in the method of finite-element to analyze the field distribution inside the brain. The amplitudes of the induced fields in different part of the brain are calculated. Through the comparison of the field distributions produced by Halo coil and the remaining three dTMS coil designs, only Halo coil with the multi-circle tangent coils(HMTC) can achieve the desired object. Better effects could be obtained by adjusting the parameters based on the HMTC coil. The presented results show significant meanings of clinical study for the design of dTMS systems.
